Celebrating Milestones and Looking Ahead: My ADHD Journey and Podcast Reflections

As we step into 2025, it’s a gratifying moment to pause and reflect on the journey of the past year with the ADHD Goals podcast. The podcast, now over a year old, began with a desire to understand and manage my own ADHD while launching various projects. Inspired by a midlife quest for renewed passion, I embarked on this path to explore the world of ADHD through conversations, reflections, and community building.

Reflecting on the Past Year

The podcast started as the ADHD Entrepreneur podcast, which evolved into the ADHD Goals podcast. The shift in focus has been as much about personal growth as it has been about sharing insights with listeners. Through interviews with experts and individuals living with ADHD, my understanding of ADHD has broadened. Each story shared was a step towards building deeper awareness and empathy while cementing my belief in the transformative power of community and connection.

Overcoming Challenges

Like any journey, the past year had its share of challenges. Imposter syndrome crept in early on, questioning why anyone would want to listen to my solo stories. However, a pivotal moment was attending a podcast show in London, where I discovered resources to connect with potential guests. This not only diversified the content but also bolstered my confidence, allowing me to create more meaningful episodes and overcome the hurdles of self-doubt.

Memorable Highlights

Two standout moments defined my journey. Interviewing Johnny Nasta, a digital marketing pioneer I admired early in my career, was a full-circle experience. It reconnected me with my roots and showcased how far I’ve travelled on this path. Additionally, becoming a certified ADHD coach opened new doors for me, providing both professional growth and a supportive community through ADHD Works.

Personal Growth and Insights

Understanding ADHD is a layered experience. Over the past year, I’ve become more adept at recognising my own executive function challenges and communicating these effectively with those around me. This honesty has not only helped me navigate my ADHD better but has also smoothed interpersonal dynamics, whether in personal relationships or professional settings.

Community and Impact

Although building a community through the podcast is still a work in progress, the feedback from listeners has been uplifting and validating. Every kind word reinforces the value of what we’re creating together—a space of shared stories, insights, and support.

Goals for 2025

Looking ahead, I am excited to grow the audience and continue learning from notable ADHD experts and individuals. Developing resources like the ADHD Canvas—a coaching tool borrowed from design thinking methodologies—aims to bridge understanding between ADHD coaches and clients, providing actionable insights.

In tandem, I am poised to launch an online course and community, targeted at raising ADHD awareness and crafting effective workplace accommodations. These initiatives represent a stepping stone towards broadening the positive impact of the podcast and my coaching efforts.

Advice and Reflections

From my journey, I’ve learned that pursuing passion over profit can yield profound personal fulfillment. For those considering a podcast or career shift, my advice is to experiment and embrace imperfection. Iterative testing—a concept from my design background—applies equally to self-discovery and career pivots.

As I close, I urge everyone to find support networks, whether they’re professional communities or local groups. Solo ventures can lead to stagnation, while collaborative efforts encourage growth and sustained progress.

In gratitude, I celebrate this past year and look forward to another transformative lap around the sun. Thank you to all who have listened, shared feedback, and supported the ADHD Goals podcast. Here’s to a fulfilling 2025, embraced one step at a time.
